Anne found that wandering the halls of the compound didn't suit her, and she had no home to go to at the moment, so she decided to put herself to use back in the IPD office again. In the aftermath of the hurricane and all of the missing people, after all, there was plenty of work to be done and rarely enough people to do it. It didn't help her think about Billy any less, or anyone else who was still missing, but at least it kept her busy.

She hadn't really thought through just who she might run into in the IPD office until it was already too late.

Anne was able to get into her skirt and blouse, for she hadn't grown any taller, but they hugged her body in ways they hadn't before and made her quite uncomfortable. She'd seen women wearing these sorts of things before and while they did look quite glamorous, in dresses of a proper cut, Anne could never imagine dressing herself quite so provocatively. Still, she hadn't really any choice in the matter until she went up to the compound to get some new clothes, so she did just that.

She felt she did not go unnoticed on her way there, though perhaps that was just her overactive imagination; in actual fact, most of the people she passed on her way were quite young, like Ray and Constable Fraser and Horatio had been. She did wonder in passing who they might be, and whether she knew them or not, but she kept her goal firmly in mind. Once she was properly dressed again, then she could concern herself with the other matters at hand.
